Moisture damage on AR190

The AR190 i got is running, not purring but with a bit of tweaks I'll smooth it out. The problem is the mossture damage which affected the tach, which is weird because there shouldn't be any moisture there. So, the tach isn't working but how do I check if it's the tach itself or the wriing. Also, how to check where the moisture is coming from?

so for the tach,you can start by testing the wiring connections with a multimeter for continuity and shorts, and to find moisture sources, inspect seals, gaskets, and ventilation, look for cracks or leaks letting water in

Have you checked for corrosion or loose connections near the dash that could hint at where moisture's sneaking in?

For the tach, you could try disconnecting it and checking with a multimeter for signal at the wires. if there's voltage or pulse, the issue's likely in the gauge. Let us know what you find!
