DIY fix on faded seats

Recently got a used Yamaha jet ski that has sun exposed seats. it's faded and has some discoloration. I was thinking to putting a replacement seat cover on it but i would like to try my luck in fixing it. but not sure where to start. any recos for paints or maybe a guide on how to do this? thnaks!

The seat should be vinyl, so it's not an impossible job to bring it back to life, as long as it's not too far gone. Start with a marine vinyl cleaner, there are kits that cover everything. Next you can try with some vinyls spray for color restoration. You'll probably need a few coats, so make sure you apply then thin and wait between passes. The final step should be a us protector to keep the restoration looking as new for longer. Most of these don't cost too much, so you can try them and if you don't like the look, you can get a seat cover.

Hmm... I agree with @Everythingiswhite1 it's not impossible to bring it back to life. You just have to be patient with it. Are you considering seat covers? Or dyeing at a local shop. It might not cost as much as getting it back to the dealer for a touch-up.

Yeah vinyl is surprisingly forgiving as long as it hasn't seen too much wear and tear. With a good cleaner a few light coats of color and some UV protectant, you can breathe new life into it. And hey if things don't go as planned there's always the trusty seat cover to fall back on. It's a great backup plan

If you're DIY-ing you can check out SEM Color Coat, my dad used this. it's made for vinyl and plastic. Just give the seat a good clean before applying
